Working with your Facilitator

Your Regional Facilitator is your main source of information and the best person to ask for advice.

You can find bios and contact information for all of our Facilitators on the Futureintech website: www.futureintech.org.nz/initiatives-facilitators.cfm

Initiation and training

When you first sign on as an Ambassador, your Facilitator will introduce you to the role and give you one-on-one training.

  • Your Facilitator will interview you for your Ambassador profile, type a transcript of the interview and send it to our Writer/Researcher.  The Facilitator will also request a photograph of you to include with the profile.
  • The Writer/Researcher will write a draft of your profile and send it to you for approval. Once you and your manager are happy with it, we'll post the profile on the Futureintech website.
  • All Ambassadors are given a training session with their Facilitator and other new Ambassadors.  The session will give you an idea of the activities you'll be doing in classrooms, provide you with tips for giving presentations, and allow you to ask any questions.

Coaching and feedback

Your Facilitator will continue to coach you as you continue working with schools. This can include:

  • Constructive feedback on how to improve your presentation skills.
  • Tips on how to deal with students from different age groups and hold their attention.
  • Insight into what teachers do and how the classroom works.
  • Discussion of how your visit went and things you can try next time.
  • Exploration of your individual goals as an Ambassador and how you can achieve them.

Other details

  • Your Facilitator is the person in charge of reimbursing any travel expenses you may have from school visits.
