I’m a trained primary school teacher and was the recipient of a New Zealand Maths, Science and Technology Fellowship in 2003. For the last two years I’ve been self employed as an insurance consultant.
I was attracted to the position of Futureintech Facilitator because it brought me back in contact with students and schools after a two year break from teaching. I also believe strongly in the aim of Futureintech to promote careers in science, technology and engineering due to the shortage of young people taking up jobs in these areas and the fact that the number of jobs in these areas are increasing.
I also like the idea of meeting lots of people from various industries. Being hosted by Fulton Hogan puts me among engineers and related professionals and I am enjoying meeting the people there and finding out about their careers.
