I have joined the Futureintech team with a career background in technology education teaching and a recent year long experience on an exciting Royal Society of New Zealand Fellowship. I made links with a number of fibre and fabric industries to investigate their technological practice during this year.
In my position as a Futureintech Facilitator I expect to assist with:
- Facilitating learning for students at Primary, Intermediate and Secondary schools where they can link with, and learn from, mentors from science, engineering and technology industries.
- Enhancing the understanding and knowledge about technology, engineering and science careers for students, teachers, careers advisors and parents.
I believe that by providing support for teaching programmes which allow for real links with industry, this will inform and empower students about new career pathways in Engineering, Science and Technology.
