Royal Society of New Zealand
Talented School Students Travel Award
The Talented School Students Travel Award is funded by the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology and administered by the Royal Society of New Zealand. It has been established to support school students, providing funds to help cover the direct travel costs to nationally recognised science and technology based events outside New Zealand.

Generally up to 50% of the selected applicant’s travel cost will be funded, with a maximum of $1,500 per award. There will be two funding rounds each year. For those students who have been unsuccessful in the first round of funding can re-apply to the second round of funding.

Zonta Science Award and Zonta/BRANZ Award
The Zonta International Club of Wellington offers two awards to women wanting to pursue a career in science – the Zonta Science Award (worth $5000) and the Zonta/BRANZ (the Building Research Association of New Zealand Inc) Award to further the status of women in scientific research, especially in fields related to the building and construction sector. It is awarded once every two years and offers $25,000 per annum for a maximum 3 year period.

Queen Elizabeth II technicians' study awards
These awards are available to technicians for study in a Commonwealth country and can be worth up to $10,000. They are awarded to people in health sciences, nursing, science (including chemistry, physics, biology and the various branches of agricultural sciences), engineering (including civil, chemical, metallurgical, electrical and electronic). Technicians are also found in building, draughting, surveying, town planning, and fishing. Awards have also been made in the fields of child health, education of handicapped persons, police work and the arts, including print making and photography.

Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ)
IPENZ offer a number of scholarships and awards for students studying engineering, both at undergraduate and post-graduate level.

Australian Hydrographic Society
Each year the Australasian Hydrograhic Society offers an Education Award of AUD$2,500. The award is open to students studying, or proposing to study, within a broad range of maritime, surveying and engineering disciplines.

Hastings District Council
Two scholarships a year are made available to students wishing to study planning who are willing to work for Hastings District Council during the completion of the degree.

Edna Waddell Undergraduate Scholarships for Women in Technology and Engineering
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funds to help women undertake undergraduate study for degrees in engineering and technology at New Zealand universities. The Scholarships will be for women entering their first year of full time study for an undergraduate degree, who have not previously studied full time at that level in technology and engineering. The Scholarships are intended for school leavers and mature women; if the latter, preference will be given to those who have worked in industry for at least three years or/and have passed sub-degree courses in technology or engineering.

Each Scholarship will be for one year, the initial year of study and the target maximum value for each Scholarship is $5,000.
