As a land hazard advisor for the Franklin District Council, Kelly Deihl manages all land hazards in the area and provides technical advice.  This can include flooding, slippage, land filling, subsidence, contamination and erosion.

Kelly loved studying geology and ecology, so when she discovered a career that lets her use science to protect her community, she jumped at the chance.

Ellena Hough works for Plant and Food extracting and analysing RNA and DNA to search for plant diseases. Once identified she researches commercial options for their control. Ellena’s career in genetic research combines her scientific knowledge with problem-solving ability and a genuine curiosity about plants.
